Automotive Gear box/Converter Seals

The function of an automotive gear box is to transfer power from the engine to the wheels & is lubricated by a required quantity of transmission fluid. The function of the gear box/converter seal is to make sure the fluid doesn’t leak. If the fluid leaks due to a damaged or incorrect seal, the volume of the fluid is reduced and a loss of fluid pressure then follows which then leads to other complications. You may then ask, what would happen when you put the wrong converter seal or continue using the damaged one? 1. Difficulty in shifting gears and this could eventually lead to damaging the gear box. 2. Gear box jumps in and out of 4WD which is commonly caused by broken parts inside the transfer case. The parts wear out prematurely due to the fluid leakage. 3. Digging deeper into your pockets to buy additional CVT which ranges between KES 5,000 to 10,000 depending on your car. 4. Time consuming- replacing a converter seal can take up to 7-8 hrs. On average, it takes approx 4 hrs opening and another 4 hrs assembling, replace the original with the wrong one & you’re back to square one. When the seal leaks, you will see a reddish fluid colour under your car indicating that your seal is worn out/damaged or incorrect and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. Trust us to not only to sell you the correct seal but also to sell you either an OEM or genuine after part seal.
